A Little Inspiration . . .

Sep 30, 2013

Mr. Cunningham could not have said it any better. Fashion to me is not just some way for people to see how
much money I have and what brands I wear, but to see my personality. The reason we love fashion so much
is because it gives us an escape in a way. It's something we can always control and alter. One day we want
to be grunge the next day we may want to wear pink. That's the point of fashion to express yourself. It let's
you tell the world how you feel without saying a word.

Luxe for Less: Leather x Florals

Sep 27, 2013

Adrienne Bailon looked ah-mazing in this floral tube dress from Zara. The Topshop collarless leather
jacket is also cute but I thought the Dorothy Perkins biker jacket was way more cool plus hello it
cost way less. And just how tough are those lace up heels from ASOS.

Lunch Break Craving: Chunky Heels

Sep 26, 2013

If I were brave enough to walk in these in a crowded New York City I so would.

Isabel Marant for H&M Leaked Oops! but Yay for us!

Sep 25, 2013

Here it is ladies and gents, Isabel Marant for H&M. November 14th can't seem to get any closer, ugh!
But we can relax and start pinning our favorites of the collection to our Pinterest shopping list boards
because the collection was leaked today. We're all going to be looking like a bunch of chic parisienne
girls who have the I just woke up and threw this on but still look fabulous look down pat
for Thanksgiving.

Gowns, Gowns, Gowns !

Sep 23, 2013

Just some of my favorite looks from the 2013 Emmy Awards Red Carpet. As you can see I don't have
one particular style. Sometimes I like sweet pastel pretty gowns and other times I love edgy sheer lace
gowns. Funny, now looking at these looks none are alike at all. And I know the Honor dress, Zosia
Mamet, from Girls is a little weird with black bra cup looking thing but I like it for some reason. It
mixes both my love of sweet and edginess together.

Weekend Partner in Crime: Meet Kobe

I'd like you all to meet my dog Kobe ! Yes, I was obsessed with Kobe Bryant from the LA Lakers
when I named him. He's a sweetheart and a little terror all in one, which is probably why my
boyfriend can't stand him sometimes but I love him nonetheless. Just look at that face !
 Wearing:
BCBG Leopard Tee (old) - Splurge or Save
Levi's 524 Skinny Jeans - I love the fit of these jeans
(lil' history about me I use to love sneakers so so much, now I reserve them for the weekend)

These were weekend pictures taken with my iPhone hence the quality of the pictures. I
didn't feel like drag my DSLR with me and Kobe plus it didn't fit in my cute little bag.

NYFW Spring 2014 Reviews - Part Two

Sep 21, 2013

According to the Sachin + Babi collection moto jackets and crop tops are still going strong into next
Spring and Summer.
Peter Som is not one to be afraid of using prints which is why I usually love his collections. Love that
he mixed the prints with clean lines.
I don't know why but Tommy Hilfiger's collection just makes me want to learn how to surf, maybe
its all the neoprene fabrics.
And Tory Burch's collection just makes me want to grab a basket and go to the nearest park and
have a picnic.
Pretty, Pretty, Pretty is all that's in my head when I see Zimmerman's collection. It's like 60's barbie
got teleported to the twenty-first century.
All about structure and the wrap skirt at Narciso Rodriguez.
Lace, floral and curves with modernized gladiator sandals at Tracy Reese.
No explanation needed for Oscar de la Renta he does ladies who lunch to perfection.
Femme fatale with an explosion of colors and florals.
The Whit collection is like the perfect vacation wardrobe if you're going anywhere warm and sunny.

Falling for Fall Fashion Week, September Issues, Back to School (or just back to work) Shopping... Nothing is hotter than September for fashion. Even though fashion week's clothes don't hit the stores until next year, seeing the trends on both the runways and on the fashion elite gives us inspiration for what to wear now. Luckily we have amazing links to the fall finds we'll be falling for. Links à la Mode: The IFB Weekly Roundup

Damask Print & Silver Toes

Sep 19, 2013

Its getting gray and windy outside and I'm loving it because I get to wear my layers soon and
drink unlimited amounts of Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes all Fall long. One of my favorite
layering pieces this Fall is this double layer asymmetrical sweater from FrontRowShop.com
This site has great clothing and accessories that are currently on trend. Hence the name Front
Row Shop because they recreate a lot of the trends you see at the latest fashion shows. And did
I mention they have affordable items, most of the items are under $100 and a lot are under $50,
hello budget !
 Wearing:
Forever 21 Damask Skinny Jeans (Olive & Light Blue)
Rainbow Silver Toe Combat Boots (Similar)
(yup, you read it correctly I said Rainbow I have no shame they were only $20 bucks last Fall)
Yesterday I attended the ENK Coterie Clothing and Accessories show at the Jacob K. Javits
Convention Center and it reminded me of how much I love my job. Kind of needed that reminder,
you know how sometimes you start to complain and not appreciate what you have. Lets just say
spending a day with Alicia, my co-worker and dearest friend, from Lattes & Lacee looking at
gorgeous inspiration brought my spirits up.

Splurge or Save: Lip Prints

Sep 18, 2013

If you've been reading my blog you know I have a slight obsession with sweatshirts preferably
gray ones. If they are embellished, bejeweled, have sequins or prints I gotta have them.
Markus Lupfer designs some of the most funky cool looking sweatshirts but for some reason
the Forever 21 sweatshirt is just catching my attention more (or maybe my wallet's attention).

Luxe for Less: Lovely Like Audrey

Sep 17, 2013

I fell in love with this look on Jessica Alba on her way to the Ralph Lauren Spring 2014 show last week.
If I could wear one outfit for the rest of my life it would be this one. Its just perfection to me.
It has that mod 1960's vibe but with some 1950's flair because of the skirt. And the crop top and
shoes bring it into twenty-first century. The hair just screams Audrey Hepburn. If Audrey were
alive today she would grace us wearing this outfit but with a pair of ballerina flats. One of my
favorite NYFW looks because of course the lovely Audrey would approve.

NYFW - Adolfo Sanchez Spring/Summer 2014

Sep 13, 2013

Last Tuesday I had pleasure of attending the Adolfo Sanchez Spring/Summer 2014 Collection
showing. And it was simply beautiful. The garments were both edgy and delicately feminine at
the same time. I definitely fell in love with a few pieces I would wear myself, that is if I had
balls and galas to attend. This is one designer I'm going to keep being on the look at for, not
only because I am a fellow Latina and feel proud but the man is truly talented. Dare I say the
next Oscar de la Renta?!
If you like this dress check out my post Illustrating Fashion/Cut-Out Dresses
Deena & Ozzy Wedge Sandals (Similar) and (Similar)
Nordstrom Faux Leather Sleeve Jacket (Similar)
That white dress was my absolute favorite.
With Elizabeth Marte the founder of FashionClimaxx.com (imagine Facebook but for fashion only),
which is now my new online obsession besides Pinterest.
And the one and only talented Adolfo Sanchez.
The OUTNYC was chic location, loved the atmosphere.

Cute Kids Take Over The NYFW Front Row

Sep 12, 2013

Move over editors, celebrities, fashionistas, and bloggers the kids are here. First it was the
celebrities taking over the front row, then it was the bloggers now these damn cute kids
with impeccable fashion sense are kicking us out.
How freaking cute does Harper Beckham look in those Dr.Martens and adorable pink dress?! There is
no need to discuss David Beckham I'm pretty sure we can all agree on one thing. The man is gorgeous.
On to Aila Wang the fashionista of the moment. Alexander Wang's niece is just too cute and having her
uncle as her stylist just makes her a street style photographer's dream. And how cute is her name, Aila.
This might just be my future daughters name, just sayin'. I apologize for the over use of the word "cute".

NYFW - Style Lounge Event

Sep 11, 2013

Monday night was amazing at the Style Lounge Event at The Empire Hotel Rooftop. It was a great
place to mingle and network with people from all different levels of the fashion industry. There
were interesting fashion items and accessories showcased by designers Susan Young, Natya Porter,
Wearing: Forever 21 Trench Jacket (Similar in Navy & Khaki)
Zara Floral Dress (Similar)
Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM (Graduation present wish I had the funds for this)
Brown Combat Boots (Similar)
My fashion week partners in crime Alicia and Cherina.
I don't know who these ladies are but they worked the fashion week side walks in those outfits.
Of course the much needed red carpet event picture : )
